Shape Note Singing with Seattle Sacred Harp
For the third annual Art + Culture Week, the gallery will host the Seattle Sacred Harp Shape Note Singers on Saturday, September 26 at 1 pm.
The group will lead a shape note singing event in which visitors are encouraged to participate. Tracing its origins in churches in New England and the South, shape note singing today continues to serve as a community and social gathering.
All are welcome to attend this free event, and no prior experience is required.
This is an open session with participation strongly encouraged as singing are neither rehearsals nor performances. Loaner songbooks will be available for use.
