Drop In Studio

Join artist and guest curator Adetola Abatan for a drop-in collage workshop inspired by the works on view in the "Artists' Choice" exhibition. Creative exploration unfolds through Abatan’s interdisciplinary practice, bringing together art, history, science, and theology as interconnected ways of understanding our world. Using a curated collection of images, book and magazine pages, colorful papers, words, and textured materials, create your own collage while reflecting on the exhibition and sharing your unique perspective.

Follow your curiosity, experiment freely, and create art at your own pace within a supportive community. Investigate provided materials and draw inspiration from the art on view with gentle guidance from Frye teaching artists. Come solo or with a friend; stay for fifteen minutes or settle in for the full session—the choice is yours! All experience levels are welcome, and youth may participate with an accompanying adult. Materials are included.

What to Expect: Open studio art making with gentle guidance from Frye teaching artists

Registration: No registration required but space is limited, and participation is first come, first served.

Frye Art Museum

Founded in 1952, the Frye is Seattle’s free art museum, bringing together art and new ideas within a stunning Olson Sundberg Kundig-designed building in historic First Hill. The museum connects Seattle with the art and artists of our time. We collect, exhibit, program, and build community around a wide range of modern and contemporary art, with a special focus on amplifying the voices of living artists.
