Michael Schultheis - Coherence in Chaos

Seattle artist Michael Schultheis has been exhibiting with Winston Wächter Fine Art for 20 years. We are proud and excited to share his latest body of work, Coherence in Chaos. At the heart of the exhibition is the epicycloid—a curve created as one circle rolls around another. As its geometry changes, so do its possibilities. A single center suggests an individual discovering inner coherence. Two centers evoke the dynamic balance of a relationship. Multiple centers speak to families, communities, and societies, where countless lives influence one another while remaining connected. The mathematics becomes a portrait of relationship itself: each new center reshapes the whole without breaking its unity. These works ask a simple question: What holds us together?

Winston Wächter is a fine art gallery and art consulting firm with exhibition spaces in Seattle and New York City. The gallery specializes in the acquisition and placement of contemporary and 20th Century works of art. Established in 1995 by Stacey Winston Levitan and Christine Wächter-Campbell, the gallery’s mission is to assist clients with the intricacies of acquiring works of art. Stacey and Christine bring with them a depth of knowledge and over thirty years of experience in the art community. The gallery represents over thirty contemporary artists who work in a variety of media including painting, photography, sculpture, and printmaking.
